Failure Analysis

H&M Analytical Services strives to be a complete vendor for all of our customers needs.  We employ a staff of PhD’s that have abundant experience and expertise in failure analysis of numerous materials including metals, ceramics, cement/concrete and semiconductors.  This is a vital step in the process of determining the root cause of failure within a product or component or even if it does not perform as expected.  In many cases, non-destructive testing methods can be utilized to keep the sample intact based on the situation.

Our experts will work with you to determine the root cause of your material failure and can provide insights on how to prevent such failures in the future.  In addition to analytical characterization, the H&M staff has industrial manufacturing knowledge and experience to understand the problem and adequately resolve it.  This combination of experience allows for H&M to deliver high quality results and answers to specific product failures and assistance in manufacturing issues that you may encounter now or in the future.

Root cause testing of failure analysis is rarely a straightforward process.  In some cases there is a simple reason as to why something did not work properly, but in the majority of cases there are multiple parts that assist in a product not performing as expected that can span from design, manufacturing, improper handling, change of production equipment, raw materials, storage and many more.   Once the root cause is determined, a corrective action is required to prevent the failure from occurring again.  This is an extremely intuitive process that our experts can provide assistance with the proper information from the customer.

The H&M Analytical Services team supports companies of all types and wants to help solve your product failure problems.
